Hôtel Orléans - France
Call for bid - 2023
Interior design competition for a four stars hotel lobby.
The main elements of the brief is to design a space split in two areas. One will be the entrance/lobby area, while the other one will be a restaurant.
These two areas are connected by a bar overlapping two stairs in the middle of the space. The reception has to be part of the bar.
This is my take.
The lobby will be split visually in 3 different areas.
- One on the right side when you enter (left on the view above) will be a custom couch made out of wooden planks. You can have a drink there or just wait for a moment there.
- On the left side when you enter (red armchairs) will be duo tables.
- While the space with the brick wall will be an area where you can relax and have a drink. The design of that area breaks the large space of the room.
The bar is overlapping the two steps leading to the restaurant. You can sit at the bar to have a drink, but also to eat something on the restaurant side.
The reception is lowered so everybody, PMR included, can register and feel welcome.
The buffet is placed next to the kitchen so the breakfast can be easily set in the morning.
In the evening the sideboard becomes a decorative element.
The restaurant is a cosy place where the lights are lowered and placed right above each table so it enhances the intimacy of the place.

Thank you!
